Lighting Hotel Function Rooms, Chester

The Challenge

Renowned as one of Chester’s finest hotels and on the border of North Wales, the focus at this hotel project was supporting multi-purpose spaces that needs to adapt the corporate settings or formal dinner gatherings, without any visual inconsistencies or complicated lighting controls. The lighting needed to be simple to use and support a wide variety of events such as dinners, presentations, workshops and professional events.

The Solution

Concealed linear led lighting in the coffered ceiling creates a focal point and provides a comfortable ambience. These can be set at warm white for formal meetings, and for professional events set at a specific colour to suit the corporate branding of the event creating a personalised experience. For an after – dinner party the lights can automatically change colour through a pre-set palette of colours which have been curated to suit the room décor.

We ensured the lighting control was easy to change and adjust, using elegant but simple keypads.

The functionality to create personalised scenes and accents was important to the hotel, allowing them to cater to their guests and clients more closely, delivering a memorable experience and service.

Colour changing lighting creates a personalised ambience

Carefully circuited downlights for general lighting provide illumination around the room, whilst the decorative wall lights and oversized drum lampshades, provide a soft glow of light onto the wallpaper, fabrics, and centre of the tables. This creates a pleasant and relaxing environment, with the flexibility of delivering brighter and warmer white lighting for formal events like meetings and conferences.

The function rooms cater for a wide variety of events such as private events such as conferences, seminars, interviews, lunches, and networking events, it is important that the lighting is suitable for all these uses.
