Prior to providing a lighting solution across the 18 exhibition halls of this exhibition centre venue, we were asked to design the lighting control system for the Concourse Hospitality Suites and Gallery Suites.
Often used for holding meetings, training session, conferences, private hospitality, and breakout spaces for larger events, it was essential the lighting control system provides flexibility and ease of operation to accommodate for the versatile requirements.
Lighting control for multi-functional spaces
We designed and programmed a versatile lighting control system. Event hosts as well as hirers can easily adjust the light levels or simply switch between scenes, to create bright or dimmer environments.
Energy efficient white LED luminaires provide the general lighting in the room. In addition to the general white lighting, LED RGBW downlights were used to enable a colour wash throughout the room so that the room could be themed in the hirer’s corporate colours.
Event scenes for personalised experiences
Both suites featured partition control, the Concourse Hospitality suites consisted of a pair of rooms with removable partition enabling each room to be used separately or combined. The Gallery Suites was a suite of 3 rooms which could be used separately or combined, depending on the partition arrangement.
The lighting control system is adjustable and set through the custom touchscreen control in each room. A bespoke presentation of the buttons allows non-technical users to set the lighting, to suit the needs of the space.
The colour of light can be defined through the colour wheel, allowing the event hosts to match the lighting to the corporate brand colours or event theme, delivering a personalised experience.
Event specific scenes can be easily recorded via the touch screens. Pre-set scenes allow users to recall certain scenes at various times, providing sufficient lighting levels for various event types.
DMX input in each area also allows control over all of the lighting via a third party theatrical/ entertainment lighting desk which can further enhance the visitor experience, especially when the architectural lighting is coordinated with the event specific stage lighting.
